Friends of Third Fork Creek is a group of neighbors brought together by a creek that runs through our backyards and neighborhood It is a special place where ducks, geese, deer, fox, and beavers still have a home in our city. We love to walk the trail along the creek and see how things change with the seasons. It gives us a refuge as well.
The problem is that we are downstream of the City of Durham and one of the densest populated areas in the state. All manner of things float down to us. We want to clean up the stream so that it is a healthy place for the wildlife and ourselves.
Friends of Third Fork Creek is a part of the Adopt-a-Stream program with the city. We monitor the water quality and host stream clean ups twice a year. Please help us spread the word about our creek and chances to help keep it clean.
Third Fork Creek in Durham, North Carolina is a waterway which leads in Jordan Lake, the water source for Raleigh and Cary. It is a secondary water source for Durham.
